The International Union of Speleology (UIS) provides financial support and officially recognizes the expedition to Cuba. They are a non-profit, non-governmental organization which promotes interaction between academic and technical speleologists of a wide range of nationalities to develop and coordinate international speleology gin all of its scientific, technical, cultural, and economic aspects. The UIS is the international body for caving and speleology.

NSS International Exploration Grant supports the expedition to Cuba.

National Speleological Society International Exploration Grants foster and encourage the work of NSS cavers in cave exploration, survey, photography and research projects around the world. Grants are given in support of group equipment for expeditions outside of the United States and its territories.
